Since the dawn of time this nuministic experience was not one of a sinister ‘Big Brother’ looking over one’s shoulder. It was moreover an inward knowing of that divine consciousness, which looked out for the people - unseen, yet definably exalting; unknowable, yet divinely and intimately communicable - ineffable and affable.
This sensation of soul, of the higher influence, recognized that man and the spiritual beings worked shoulder to shoulder within this World.
Men and women have grown less conscious of their intuitive teachers and guardians. Their outreach and in-reach is muffled by a static interference of sorts … replaced with an inclining toward principle, rather than experience.
The same sense of being watched-over continues, but it is unconsciously now linked to such worldly bodies as: federal law, common law, parental disapproval, self loathing, electronic communication, the Police, the Army, the religious reckonings - whereupon the watchers have been replaced by regulatory emblems of social harness, rather than spiritual assistance.
The highest a man can reach for appears to be, by and large, a thunderclap - whether it be in the form of a parking fine or terrible medical report. The sensation of being watched-over is now a grim experience, and the comfort that was formerly nourishing the spirit is generally inpenetrable.
There is a twofold problem associated with this happening. Firstly the soul of Man has soured with disappointment; and secondly, the spiritual beings who are now disinvited are cooperatively passive, and although with a temperament to help, find themselves generally unemployed.
This is not to say that they are completely without their work individually and collectively - for in many respects they are more occupied than ever - but it is to say that their clear lights and pathways to understanding are shrouded with common day concerns that depart back into a heavy atmosphere, and the thoughts and minds in human life do not perceive them at all.
The root cause of this phenomenon is not materialism as may easily be supposed, but fear.
Materialism can be distracting to the spiritual consciousness, and is themed in most of the ‘powers’ mentioned above, yet it is and always has been a chief encouragement to enlightenment and inspiration.
From man-built cathedrals to findings in science, and into the revelations and discoveries within the natural world, the consequence of observing and learning through the materialistic gateway is enlivening to the soul within.
It was never a contest between the spiritual worlds and the physical world - it was never an ‘either or’. This is important to consider, and examples yet again how separated the two have become, to think that it might ever be.
The prophets enjoyed the elements, and often took to their deepest of thought whilst experiencing the exhilarating force of terrain, of mountain, of cave, of manna, of bread.
Material life was ever Deified.
Honey was a celebration of the gods, and men were celebrated in return. Life was a collaboration of the heavenly powers, with each human being kissed by this knowing. And, as a child in a park, they could explore freely, because they knew that the parent was there just a few steps behind them.
This coaxial relationship was intact.
Of course it is true to observe that in recent times the overall spiritual perceptions have been lessened by the incarnating process as it evolves to date. Yet, interestingly, the subject as discussed today is far separate to this - which is an important distinction and codicil, that was always there in place. And when one comes to think of it, were it not separate, Mankind would have been doomed from the outset.
That is to say, that it would have been a very bad plan indeed to throw races into cycles of evolution whereby they would lose their living connections with the supporting heavens simply because their substance was narrowing into a physically defined world. If anything, the contrast, should and would create more of a consciousness, where the soul of Man could grow to identify the voices of both [physical and spiritual].
It was never part of any plan to make this aspect (particularly this aspect) more difficult, because it is precisely this aspect which was the rope ladder to the stars - the safety cord - the means to be able to refer backwards and forwards from the one condition to the other with a constant rapport.
The trials of physical hardship were truly tempered in the past by that sense of spiritual support. Death itself was seen to be the comfort at the end, and the days between were lit by the happiness of spiritual companionship.
To be able to feel contained and upheld by the heavens infuses the worldly life in ways that calm and nourish the experience of living. And when sorrow or pain became overwhelming, it was the silent song of the parent-world that would comfort the soul. The plains of time would open out before the inner eye - and whatever the circumstance, they would have certainty that their life and all goodness, dwelt permanently outside the temporal.
Time and time again, this was the fundamental learning through this contrast of being. And without this experience, both the comfort and the contrast are gone.
There used to be a saying “you can blame it on the Devil”.
As ignominious as this may be, there is truth to it, insofar as the fable of Lucifer permits.
Long before the descent into matter, many evolutions earlier, an angelic being of pure origin, became brighter and stronger in ways that would appeal to the spiritual advances of Man. His radiance drew to itself such admiration that men would look to him firstly - he promised an eternity, a youthfulness that surpassed a supplication of comfort, it offered immortality. Lucifer was all beautiful, and yet at the same time, he renounced the world. Instead of a collaboration, he worked against its own determining, for all light was drawn back to him.
Vanity and false hope engraved cosmic roads leading to this angel of great appeal.
It was as though the opening act had taken over the show, as Mankind skipped its way into a bacchanalian abyss of celebrated self grandeur.
For this Lucifer became known as the false light, as it became so persuasive the souls of men saw only that light, losing fast their connections to the heavens as before.
Earlier we spoke of Fear being the root cause of the disassociation from the Spiritual World's collaboration. It is interesting to note that even and especially is Lucifer himself compelled and motivated by it.
Fear is the back end to falsity. False hope and false vanity, false promise, false aggrandizement, these things will result inevitably with the sufferance of fear. Fear alerts one to the lack of substance. Fear whispers the truths they endeavor to conceal. Fear becomes the voice of the muse, the last lonely voice to be heard within and throughout. When the connections to the heavens are severed Fear will still call to us. This is the blessing of Fear.
Lucifer fears decaying and death. He fears the ugly, he cringes from poverty. He cannot withstand any trial of contrast or contest. He is fastidious and defined, unchangeable and introvert. Lucifer claimed self perfection and expects no less from the multitudes that cleave to him. And they do. The men and women of this age hold such small parameters of value and worth, duped by a forgery of a second-best sanctity.
