In the Cold Light of Day- 13th June 1999

 Questions:
Therefore, fellow denizens of S98 [Steiner 98- a now defunct internet discussion group], how about we all get together onlist and work up a specific question for the BeeHive Brothers who really do have a keen interest in whatever it is we are doing here on Ahriman's substitute for the Akasha Chronicle.

Right now, I would like to ask them what they perceive about the
nature of the Internet medium, the specific good and evil spiritual beings attracted by the medium and what positive value the Internet has for our spiritual evolution.
- Tom

It has been said by men much more learned than yours truly that we can help to redeem Ahriman by understanding such things as computers.
What do the Brothers think of Ahriman's redemption?
- B.J.

IT is not uncommon for creatures to be fed upon when they have died. Whether by road-kill or slaughter, cull or murder, there are instances, crossing kingdoms, where the dead are devoured by those who would take from them.

You could picture a fox and a hare. The hare is dead. Soon the muscles will have relaxed into frozen. Soon the warmth and etheric vapors will have evaporated. The intelligence, the intuitive forces and keys of the animal, have departed as well. The fur-clad limbs give way unto the tearing, and the blood seeps out, some to whiskers of hungry fox. And he is empowered, he is nourished, he is excited, satisfied yet insatiated all the same, with this his kill.

When life has withdrawn and the body remains, inanimate to the presence that did formerly drive it, you can see a queer bluish glow about the flesh. You can define very clearly what is life and what is death, for that which is dead does not resemble in any way truly, that which it was - it is different.

The cadaver and even the forces which now move out from it, are surrogate to the beings who would make use of the remains, for that time which it is present. All forms of life are opportunistic. If there is an opening into further life, into manifestly becoming or consuming, enshrouding or even invading, the beings within the locality will hurry into any such lost-property and make it a home. There is a certain adaptfulness and usefulness almost everywhere.

Further to this there are three types of beings that can be graded, who live concurrent to each other, yet live with great distinction from one another. Directly within this world and close-by affecting its evolution, the three distinctions are both in vitality and of purpose, namely:
  1. those of the past forces,
  2. those of the present living
  3. and those of the future impulses
- all 'alive' with vitalities and permeations which pertain to those three categories also.

The hare, when it was alive, manifested and gave home to those beings which were current to the physical existence, as well as some which pertained to that of the future as well. Its consciousness belonged in the present, and although one could argue agreeably, that much of what it was belonged to that larger Group Soul, which incorporated all of the ancient qualities of hare accumulated (and this in itself is true), we can establish that primarily its consciousness belonged in the moment, as it happened. The consciousness is what we may look to in order to define the nature of the being in relation to its timeliness.

When the consciousness departed the body, the remains of the hare were rapidly given over to the new forces then driving in. During this transition of decay, the astral body begins its phase of manifestive dilemma. This dilemma will eventually assist with the breakdown and dissemination of its own formation (something which is not easy from its point of view, as it has remained 'true' to the life of the hare and resists change terribly). Yet concurrently within its own opposing activity, there shall also be emissions of such 'death radiations' as they pass through the expiring material.

It is possible for new life to find its key into the physical world riding on the back of the astral, just prior to its complete and perfect dissipation. At the gates of death small life forms will creep through in trojan fashion, animating something which was formerly representative of some other life which bore differing qualities.

The hare has traditionally represented our Moon. If we consider the Moon in its period of decay, in relation to our Hare and Fox analogy, it can be understood that although we may still draw much in from those forces about the Moon, they are of a very different nature to those which were present at the time when it was consciously inhabited by the originator of its form.

Similarly, we have beings which are absorbed within this Globe that do come directly riding in upon the moonbeams, as it were - and with the ancient rays of now decayed sunlight as well. These beings which are conveyed in the electricities you ask of, are the ahrimanic beings now overcrowding our sphere, inspiring the technologies and illuminating the properties amongst us with the radiations from form which refuses to break down.

In our message/speak prior to this there were the passages (on the subject of Horticulture and the etheric world):

"So we may contemplate the bringing into this world of yet further life and so rejoice. The Horticulturalist knows life in its voracity and virililence. He has met with the Trinity in its unaffected and most wild happiness.

"For the student who has not this element of understanding there is a compulsion to order, to cold divisioning and to decisiveness such is choleric, yet over-so. The very profile of the ahrimanic contender, who has forsook their natural joy for a seriousness that will consume them if their natural world does not return within them.

"Let us look then to the Trinity in relation to this matter:

"This table (above) is not intended for diagnostic purposes - it is moreover an indication of the physical condition primarily and how it can be affected or afflicted by given influences. Second-guessing the spiritual causes to any condition within the physical is far more involved than any one table could explain, let alone from just one criterion understood, therefore this is just to be taken as is - and be noted duly as simply pertaining to the physical body itself rather than its occupant within."
Ahrimaniacal beings are 'one-eyed' single dimensional entities whose comprehension and focus is straight forward, yet unbalanced, as far as perspective does go. Our own pineal 'one-eyedness' is not as one eye alone, but in actuality it is as a thousand - seeing all around itself - whereas the ahrimaniacal being is the original Cyclops as then depicted, as perceived in distinction to Man.

Assembled machines, computers, or for that matter, egg-beaters, do not of themselves have a consciousness. The entities which swarm around the action of the engine of a motor vehicle, those that live in the mineral fuel and its emissions, those that hover in the noise and delight in going for the drive, those accompanying entities do not comprise one sole intelligence which could ever consciously drive that vehicle anywhere.

At best, the magician has in past episode made an appearance of such ... of making the inanimate animate with what does seemingly contain some being within ... yet this frankensteinian concept is of itself promulgated by the ahrimaniacal beings who would wish it so. It is a key concept because it discredits life and manifestation as we understand it, to hold to this process of incarnation and all that that means.

Critically speaking, each associate host which belongs to the kingdoms of Man itself, holds signatory understanding (even if only in infancy), of the many phases of soul and of ego that there are (even those yet to be and to become). Although latent, the lesser beings have their measure of Christ-likeness - of warmth, of light and of future possibility. They have the desire, the very Budhi and the Manas which holds a revelatory composure. In other words, all that comprises Man and is Man, has great potential, a potential which is larger than itself.

The nature of Ahriman is not one of that of the visionary. He is practical, unpersuadable, at times indelible, but he is not, characteristically, made of the stuff of the future. He is submissive to Christ, and given to Christ's tolerance. There is much about this world that pains him and much he would not even choose to associate with, were it not for his worship of devices, gadgetry, and Christ Himself that draws him ever nearer into this realm.

Of the most solemn issues regarding the individuality at the apex of the beings of influence incorporated within, we shall not make comment. There is no worthwhile reason to go there. We can study the aspects as they affect our daily lives etc. but to make a study of the most serious characteristics this being has, would be like dipping the quill into the poison (something we shall not do for the sake of the lessons).

In relation to the internet and all of its conveyances: one of the most beloved attributes of Christianity is that it can be blissfully transformative just by its courage and its purpose. One can leap past the uncertainty and danger that presents with the qualifying optimism and drive of a yet higher purpose! How often we see a meaning transformed because of a higher motivation so governing it.

On the sub-psychic strata concerning magnetisms, magnetic fluids, radiative and permeative influences, one can say that by having intercourse with anything which is infused electronically, one finds it is wearing to the etheric vitality, debilitating to the ego's veneer and illusory (therefore disruptive) to the intelligence.

If we absorb these difficulties and proceed with a good purpose, the results will become clear to us also. The gains can quite easily exceed the cost. The fatigue can be replaced with yet a higher revivification, coming from the enterprise itself and all of the worthwhile joys that it does bring. It does not ever need to indicate that we are inextricably bound to the ahrimanic demons who frequent the ethers that we work with. Conversely, it does not mean to say that we shall rehabilitate them into anything other than what they are either.

Such a transformation shall be acquired through more protracted means ... can you make a guess how this can be achieved S98? ["Rudolf Steiner", 1998 group]

Waiting for Spring- 9th April 1999

THERE are a variety of ways a man can present himself in the world, and with ordinary means it is most difficult to determine whether or not the inner development is consistent and causal to the display we are shown.

A man may appear inordinately affectionate or disaffectionate, yet the soul/egoic condition be remarkably the same. Unless one is gifted with an exceptional perception it is difficult and even dangerous to attempt a causal judgment of any other. Supposing is not reliable. The mystery of a man is given to a privacy within his own permits and is for no other to know, unless asked to do so. Even a spiritual emeritus has not by qualification alone, been afforded the right to make suppositions about the condition of another's interior self.

Therefore we are cautioned to this before attempting even the broadest of discernments as to the character (or displacement thereof) of another. Having said that, we can endeavor to study that which may pertain to our own natures, and assist with others' studies. As students in common, we can come to this work out from out own dilemmas and problematical inquiries, with such an honesty of validity to be had in the subjective, that we may be guided by a self-assessment, instead of an abject judgment of another.

And so we now continue:
There is a useful proverb:
The clearer the pane, the sharper the glass.
Today's discussion will try to examine the several contributing factors in that of the esoteric student who has lost much kindness to criticism in that process of sharpening his consciousness through observation and discrimination. Such characteristic coldness can come from:

  1. Refined sensibilities whereby the inner tolerance & outer resistance have been compromised by an all too swift development

Development of any kind is rarely manifest in equal apportions of progressiveness. Nature spurts and spills, with shoots and runners, propelling into life when the decision is so made. We go from 'nothing', to bud, to blossom, and each stage is so very distinct it may almost appear unrelated to the preceding one. Coming in from a spiritual design, out from the originating realms, much appears 'all of a sudden' with all episodes clearly contrasting one another as they further the reality. Of course much time aforehand may well contribute to the eventuality we experience; however, even that time is not equally represented.

There is nothing equal about development, and for that matter, there are no in-betweens (unless you count those periods of 'non-being' when manifestation is withdrawn entirely).

Further to this, in certain conditions both without and within, an individual may be subjected to an accelerated stride of new attainment. This is not uncommon amongst those who have re-entered upon the path and come to realize their inner preferences there. Phenomenally a man need not awaken into the spiritual work at any particular age, especially when karmic duties have called his attentions within the worldly activities requiring him to participate to the very fullest aforehand. It may well be that much later in life he consciously begins to 'catch up' to those inner knowings he worked for in previous lifetimes, and then seemingly 'all of at once' he has changed remarkably.

In reaction to this spirituality now come upon them, there is also a quickening of perception, as well as the subliminal material now conversing along with the awakened inner sensibilities. New experiences rush in to greet this consciousness, as the ego also extends its call out into the world to truly know it - wishing to investigate and cohabit with substance, fellow and god.

This is a special time therefore of compromise occurring, when the mainframe constitution accordingly reacts to the now new tensions straining to meet with the excessive life. Conjunctures are responsive all over the being; comprehension is attempted, signatures are sought after, curiosity enlivens and then, understandably, it stops.

It is a magnetic anomaly, yet also an astral gastritis. Too much too quickly and we begin to evacuate even before the necessary processing. We can see individuals who have gone from mundane to enlivened and then into nihilism resulting ... and from this position there can be then two ways to go.

If the enlivening was self-earned then the man or woman will begin to reassert themselves in relation to the spirituality, and the 'coldness' to the world will thaw with the warmth of their true inner life restabilizing itself once again in respect to its natural audacities.

If the enlivening was artificially induced then the indifference will continue.

 2. Beings of complicity complicating religiosity with pseudo-seriousness

Wherever there is a body of men working together there are also the beings who oversee that one body, and come to rely energetically upon the efforts of that group. With spiritually placed organizations there can be very protective beings who begin their wardship as faithful, deliberate hosts. They attend and cooperate at gatherings, they inspire a like-mindedness and shadow feeling of fellowship; they may become great and useful providers of much truth shared and experienced (partially creating the spiritual realities they promulgate).
However, such beings do not encompass the human empathies. They may be very powerful and persuasive as far as their divine knowledge is inspiring (there are dark path entities also, but we are speaking of the goodly variety) and yet, because they are limited to a 'higher' perspective as it were, they are all too distant from the condition of men.

Now in Anthroposophy there can be such a dedication to the leading being of the inner society that the very sensitive of individuals who are pouring themselves into the work are becoming responsive to its 'higher nature' in such a way that they are divorcing out from the world in general. This is not to say that they are no longer effectual within their lives and loves etc. But it can be seen in countenance and attitude that many are disabled from some aspects of individual character, replacing it with an assumed sense of divinity.

This being is not that of Dr. Rudolf Steiner, and nor is it the Elijah Spirit* which he himself has emulated. It does not belong with the Rosicrucian stream (a rowdy bunch at best); and in principle does not belong with the future episodes ahead of Man as entertained by Christ.

This can be proven in respect firstly to the exclusive nature of the Society Being, as promulgated by its recipients. Formally it is an entified organization, and this being was called in during the first gatherings of the Esoteric Section with the precise purpose of setting such ordinances in place, and keeping them there.

This detachment may well be preferred and chosen by those who participate. It is not, in itself, irrevocable, and in many respects it affords a great comfort for those sensitive individuals who are trying to make their way in the world, negotiating the many forces within.

In relation to point one, it can be understood how rapidly a soul can wish for some stability to invisibly set their axis upon, that the influx of new experiences and information can cause an ancillary need which may then be answered by the providence of that governing angel whose wings we may ride upon with inspiration, with such divine love akin to its kind.

A. Rosenkrantz

This is no criticism but comment, to say also that the Man-Wisdom Anthroposophia, is coincidentally supported and maintained with an invisible presence which is not of Man. We do not believe that the strength of this being's effect was predecided. It is noble, it is determined, but limited in conveying much of the human condition as it exists today about the Globe.

Seriousness and gaiety do go hand in hand. The very lightness of spirit pertains to gravity as known. The better informed an individual is, the more capable he is of true seriousness. Experience, study, empathetic reasonings and resultant love, all bring the ego of Man closer to the reality without. This knowing of reality, in turn, makes a man strong. Such strength then offers
  • resistance (when chosen);
  • discrimination (re-identifying)
  • and comprehension (an expanded consciousness).

We are better equipped with our humanity if we are understanding it. We are less likely to shy away from those aspects which appear overwhelming to our inner sensibilities if we have won some resistance, discrimination and mindfulness about ourselves.

It would be perilous to believe ourselves and solely ourselves, to be so strong or comprehensive so as not to need the assistance and guidance of the higher beings in all that we do. It would be equally misplaced if we bethought ourselves tough enough to resist the many incoming forces and entities that would try us tomorrow, were it not for the protection of Christ and His emissaries.

But what we are saying here is that the emphasis within the operating consciousness of the Society can prove itself too persuasively geist-like, rather than of Man.

[*Elias Artista: Elijah the Artist:
Nothing is concealed that shall not be revealed. There are many more secrets concerning the transmutation, though they are little known, for if they are revealed to someone their fame is not immediately common. With this art, the Lord bestows the wisdom to keep it secret until the advent of Elias Artista. Then shall be revealed what has been concealed.

The Conference with Vanity- 1st April 1999

"Show yourself!" - His commanding words addressed the figure plainly. Reticent and cowering, the hooded intrudent moved forward.

"Speak Master Vanity, and tell me of yourself."

The creature beneath the cloak began to assume quite quickly, something of a lively confidence. It flourished its head, and then with girlish affectation, it giggled.

Christ looked on, waiting patiently for some reply. His Presence had enlivened the being and it was now most comfortably animated within its own nature. Its eyes burnt inwards, it stroked its own hair. Comfortable with the grand attention it was soaking in, it then found the appropriate moment to dramatically moan and sob.

"I am ill-understood ... my beauty is so coveted ... I am painfully envied and therefore disliked - alone in my abstract pleno [fullness/completeness]."

"Does greatness have to be recompensed with a loneliness?" Christ murmured, as if to Himself; and then, as though startled into full wakefulness He spoke with full accent upon this other:
"I have seen what may come of you within this very future, and there is much to be done, if you are to remain within my World. Do you have knowledge of that star from which your tender self resides? Will you allow me to tell you of its holy and reliable instincts? Come closer and I will show you - if you would have it my friend."

With anyone else it would have argued (unto eternity); perhaps only for attention's sake, and be so engaged with speak about itself, or for that of the fact that it had no real consideration for much outside of its mean comprehension. However, this was Christ: The Christ, our Christ. And He had come.

They said that He was received within the World, and yes it had been also so said that He was fearless! When He had gone into the many wild places of bush and wood, of river and sea, of hilltop and mountain, into the etheric paradise and then penetrating the caverns of the astral depths as well - throughout the many, many natures He had visited and passed through - they had said in report afterward, that He had played. That He did not test His Strength, but His Joy.

With a caravan of Muses there following, the mirth amongst each place thus visited was complete! Happiness kissed the cheek of each and every face so smiled upon, glad again, for if ever there was a King within the World it was this Sovereign!

Yes, it was said that He had truly met with everything, and everybody spoke well of Him. Little demons (those that were about) came into new being - the very first to wave around and jiggle into dance when He was about. Naught could be untouched by this happiness that had returned into the Earth.

But then, there were those days not so spoken of ... weren't there. Days when He grew solemn and distant and the world had felt His Hurt.

Obedient to his Master's mind, Vanity sought to lock into the understanding offered. For this was Christ, and even Vanity could not entirely be himself anymore, now having been so very closely touched by his patriarch.

"You see that star up there"- the finger pointed and a radiant light moved out from it, rapidly appearing and disappearing.

"This star is not your star, you have long been affixed incorrectly." He pondered in silent conference, and then continued, "The true Venus that you seek is now the Sun."

"Dignity!"
"Solemnity!"
"Divinity!"
"Sovereignty!"

Four columns of light (not quite as intense as a star voyager conveyer beam) appeared with prismic infusion, out of which appeared four figures. Exquisite and gracious, the four assembled before the two.

"These are your family dear one - do you not know them?"

Vanity became awkward, sensing only an inner emptiness ... and an unbearable ugliness in contrast to the party intent upon him. He had no reply to give. He felt nothing but a horrible self-pity.

Christ in that moment had healed him of an ugliness which had cankered his being e'er since it began. He had reunited him with his kind, and temporarily censured his composure.

The sadness returned ... "What was it about this God? What was my part in it all?" He wondered within, then Vanity knew. It had been his face Christ had looked into and called upon, just moments before He had been punctured, just before His Blood had soaked forth. And that was when the sadness had come ... when the gaiety had gone and the world all o'sudden went unbelievably cold. He remembered!

It was Vanity presiding when Man condemned God to die. It was Vanity present and detaining when Man humiliated the One who loved him the most. It was Vanity that had turned away and caused the Sun in its greatest grief to expire its light into the bosom of its beloved.

Christ's voice then spoke. Vanity suppressed the tears and waited in silence.

"Vanity, you are my greatest child - the naughtiest also - and yet you are still growing. Though false pride is but an empty beginning, it is still a beginning nonetheless, for within you as well, is a little of me and my unfinished work, my love and my all too eager impatience.

"Child of the Ego, you shall grow to maketh a strong and beauteous bearer of soul. Know this, that one day you shall live joyously in your true worth, and that the reality of self is truly that of God made manifest in you. Self-love shall be conceived as the love of our dear Father God; self-loving in proper consideration shall introduce you to your spirits in kind and in destiny, who share in this divinity as so come to being in you.

"Vanity, though mistaken, sorely pained and wretchedly ugly, trivial and almost empty, beguiled and ever delusional ... I still love thee. You are an innocent and in need of the guidance that I shall give. Remain with us here, and believe, for not only have I now come to be with you ...I am here to stay."

Optimum Ingravia- 30th March 1999

MEN do not need wars - it is the very concept that our finest minds entertain which may invite perils rather than detain them.

Should we ever accept or explain genocide? Whether by hand or by nature, such "transformation" occurring in global events by any form of corruption is not an event welcomed by Christ. In point of fact, it is moreover a dangerous distraction away from the truth of this Being and Presence within our Humanity.

We caution all who are specialists in their spiritual thinking to guard their attitudes with extreme vigilance, such as is quick to refute the explanations of causality, as a silent precursor to acceptance.

You see much begins and ends with us. The future worlds importantly, morph right out from the many-petalled mind of the world - and this mind is but our mind, contributed to by our finest.

We betray our brothers and sisters and that of our future selves when we presume to comprehend the transactions of war and of pestilence. In philosophy also, men may distance themselves with such 'objectivity' that argues "death is inevitable", "life in this world is transitory", "out of evil cometh good", and so forth.

Yet it is by our observation that we can say that souls may be flung into an obscurity with violent death, and disturbed out from what would have been a life from which much good could have been gleaned. But when individuals pass through the gates of death in shock, taking with them the last moments of mortal terror (experienced deeply in the body as well) the 'animal' itself is panicked and eventually torn out from its impelling desire to drive down into life - ill-prepared it desists. Then what follows for much after is the grievous condition of such insecurities that are attributable to such an event. Men are durable but not insufferable.

Optimum ingravia.

The Incarnation was an act of Love for this World. The forces which oppose this, distort and disrupt our dear Creation. But let it be said: There is no great meaning or benefaction to come from disorder, disharmony and death. We are cautioned in these remarkably potent of times to affix our meditations and subsequent propaganda on the lap of Beauty, the breast of Wisdom, the Staff of Christ and the Fatherhood of God.
