The Wilderness- 19th April 2026

The wilderness used to be feared, akin to Hades … the space outside the populated areas; before the satellite phone, before mechanical transport, these isolated carousels were rarely, if ever, attempted by choice, as few were ever known to return from them.

What was also said was that the wilderness housed the Jinn and the unquiet spirits - that the howling plains teemed with invisible beings whose chosen residence was removed from the peoples and were never to be approached - where many lost their minds venturing in there - it was said.

The happy truth however was that should one travel far enough they inevitably came to foreign cities, usually contrasting their own with abundance.

Thus many never returned, and unbeknown misadventure did not take them but rather they were settling into a new and preferred life with fresh experience.

Once again this becomes a model for our thinking - especially when we can depart from the familiar and step into the wilderness - where very possibly we become far from family and friends, so much so, that a sense of aloneness is evident within these quiet spaces until the spiritual voices - unseen - can now be heard, and suddenly contemplation is crowded with all manner of impeding influence.

Of course we can return to the familiar, or choose to venture beyond … and with this daily exercise of thought we might renew ourselves with vistas anew.

When Christ took himself into the wilderness He also was something removed from the broadcast of voices, of Humanity’s call - and the outer became the inner within this silent remoteness.

He also came upon the Jinn and the ghosts who rushed forth to be heard and interrupt His thought.

All but one puffed and shone with the glory of this meeting, for the lonesome, exiled souls were now embraced with His warmth and kindness.

He did not fear these lonely spirits, but instead breath to breath, he breathed new life with a single puff into their derelict shells.

And the spirits danced with joy, bowing to His Majesty.

With this done Christ took His mind to further times - not as described earlier of countries remote, but, instead He travelled within these ‘forty days’ into the very future of this World and of Humanity.

Yes, here is a mysterious truth that our beloved Christ foresaw the ages to come - all of them - as though they had already been, He placed Himself in advance throughout time - yay, even into this very moment - imbibed with Him: the cordial of Him, the elixir of Him, the protection of Him, the life and light of Him.

For He had seen what was to become of the World that would replicate life in its myriad forms, yet without soul - were it not now for His intervention.

Great works thus can be done in such a short span of time, and especially when there is peace to secure them.

He placed Himself into every moment moving forward, and time itself now bows to Him - and even the forlorn dance with joy in His company.
