On Hallowed Ground: The Soul, Creativity & Mundanity- 2nd April 2023

The soul is simple in what it wants, needs and desires - it is placid and generally confident most naturally. The soul knows the mysteries of life in their concentrated form - compacted into feelings rather than measurements, impressions rather than increments, the overall, rather than their detail, happy with the wonder of the profound, rather than the particular.

And this of course comes directly from the attenuating hierarchies, and the most subtle, yet strongest conduit of all - the funiculus umbilicalis to God.

And with all of this there is no disharmony or distress, no illness or grievance. The being is content. This is what peace feels like: to rest in the mind of the soul.

Creativity is reckless, for its nature wants license to depart the usual cogs and wheels of structure and to surprise oneself or others with the unexpected. Not all creativity is beautiful or productive, yet nor is it necessarily destructive. It can be either the artist or the undoer ... and is self evident, self-revealing, almost from the outset.

Children are naturally creative - they strive to explore, usually to de-construct much of what is around them.

As adults it is a dangerous impulse for an inartistic person to become overly creative. Creativity requires a strong measure of virtue - or, at the very least, an instinct as to what true virtue is. Without the sense of virtue the actions and behaviours become reckless.

Creativity of itself can be a stimulant.

When a man or woman applies themselves with repetitive work, it requires a measure of will to do so; and this effort and application literally can save the mind from the madness of creativity.

And yet, conversely, to work and give no time to creativity in life can lower the liveliness of the consciousness into stupefaction.

And so, the most perfect balance of all is to give oneself to both effort and imagination every day in equal endeavours.

Lastly, prayer wonderfully requires this mix. Praying entails the effort of concerted thought being coupled with that of our reaching beyond ourselves. The focus and application requires intention, concentration, perseverance, and generally selflessness; tempering the very freedom that the holy hopes provoke the imagination to realise. And with this combination of effort and insight, we are fundamentally restored for a time - being protected from the wild winds of our own creativity and the binding routines compelling us within and without - whilst returning us back through to the inner door into the mind of our soul.

Nothing comes from Nothing- 26th March 2023

Question: how is it that the future can ever be seen before it happens?

Does the pen know the word he trails across the paper? Does the paper comprehend the thought? The mind knows afore the written word, but to the pen it is unexpected.

As a conscious being we can choose our navigation through a myriad of possibilities that are already there awaiting us ... manifest ahead of us, there to experience. And yes, we can jump from one to another.

These realities need to exist before we can approach them - we do not watch them unfurl in real time - however our own reactions in any space of space are of our own choosing.

That which frames our destinies does not exist ad infinitum: there are boundaries to these possibilities of future and yet these frames of circumstance are too many for any to comprehend.

We work and experience our lives within a far greater mind. Creation is ‘mindfulness’ and it is most definitely not that of our own making.

Routine and repetition brings fewer choices of a certain kind ... which can lead to a form of soporific living - a consciousness that has tempered down into the mundane. Or by such practises it can help free the consciousness to experience itself within that stillness from jumping in and out of the forthcoming realities.

Every part of the new hour and day needs to be pre-existing that we may enter into it.

And although it is somewhat predictable, it is our reactions that are not preordained or constrained to the greater will.

We react as we would choose, and with a limited movement we can draw realities to ourselves or escape others.

It takes effort and will and imagination to be able to do this.

We can achieve this in yet another way also: and this is with our inner resources that enable us to love all of Creation and immerse ourselves into the reality we find ourselves in at any given moment.

This can be a contest, depending upon those who we may share our reality with, and it is natural for individuals to be aggravated by one another when their vision of future realities are very different from one another.

Minute by minute it really is similar to the “choose your own adventure” tales, with our souls co-operating within the greater Mind - that working consciousness without.

A codicil to this is that some individuals are self-limiting within their possibilities due to their behaviours ... works of hatred or disruption cause blockages and an individual who is sour of mind, intent or action, cannot proceed very far, for they themselves are disengaging from the mindfulness of the future consciousness.

It takes loving thought, living thought, to unlock parallel gates to further possibilities.

“I am the door.”
“I am the gate.”
“I am the way, and the truth and the life.”

Goodness Gracious Me- 19th March 2023

A twofold cure is a lasting one, whereas a superficial cure may turn back upon itself at any given time. A twofold cure requires a measure of goodness for it to be lasting.

Goodness is sought everywhere and is in fact, everywhere to be found.

The properties of goodness are universal and sustaining - and are also termed Brahma-bhava, shakenari [?], or in Latin, visceral.

Much later the word ‘vice’ was adopted with an inference to say that pleasures (which were usually carnal) came from the Divine visceral ... i.e. goodness - which of course is true, unless it is not true.

By this we mean to say that over time the vices (although attributed correctly) deteriorated into malevolent practices which departed their original source and had become spent of their good character as it were.

Both common and uncommon aberrations form and create memory shells that attach themselves as barnacles to the soul who entertains them.

The man of faith often praises the divine aspect, and attributes, credits, acknowledges and calls upon its goodness - be it within the meal or the act, before involving himself completely. And with this thankfulness and praise, the goodness is welcomed into the mix - be it in ritual or daily life, every plane of activity is improved by it.

And yet this practice of gratitude and acknowledgement does not ensure safety from adverse outcomes - say with the case of ingesting a poison or strong narcotic etc. however in general it can invoke a healing even before the disease has begun.

There is a certain compatibility between the incoming forces and the being who is receiving them when goodness is present - for it is the goodness that the being seeks primarily in all things - i.e. a way, a knowledge, an infilling of the Divine.

To say Grace before one’s meal sincerely helps to bring nutrition and sustenance into the body of what we are to consume. It is vital for this to be intentional, purposeful - and not simply given as a chore.

It is interesting to note that satanic rituals take up similar practices of prayer and attributions and subsequent consummations ... and that fundamentally they too are searching in their misguided ways for a form of ‘goodness’. They may believe this to be a strength, or power, or divining ... endeavouring to connect or incarnate a particular divinity, and yet it has come from the same impulse regardless.

And so from this example we can glimpse the problematic extremes this thinking can fall to.

The word ‘goodness’ can give us a sense of what we need to know about it. Goodness seeks out goodness and is repelled from conjunctive vice - whatever that may be.

The satanist craves goodness - their souls are blanched, their bones are dry, the colour has left their world, unseen by their eyes; and the devils that command them becry goodness, yet they too yearn for it sorely. The cure is right before them.

In a smaller, but not so small measure, lies also the importance of the healing forces of repentance appealing to goodness for its supplication.

Goodness knows no time, it does not belong to time, and is capable of going back in time to where the memory rests. Once there it can restore the ill that requires a tender mending.

And for the individual, acts of goodness that they themselves can carry out, are remedial to both their soul and their body, and will tether the goodness thusly.

We are in truth pure light, and everything else is but a holy-o-graphic attachment.

Thought Trees- 12th March 2023

A tree branch does not grow separately from the tree - and its buds, leaves and fruit do not grow apart from their host branch. The unity of the group is obvious and without question. The central nourishment sustains each branch and its burden.

One’s thought process has a similar behaviour whereby the whole being is interconnected; and very simply put, if we are to consider certain thoughts themselves to be expressed or experienced as individual leaves, buds or fruit, we can understand that they are predictably very similar to the other branches of that same tree and its nature.

If an individual perceives the world in a particular way, it is as the fully formed tree unlikely to change into an entirely different species. However, and happily, the consciousness of Man does not manifest just the one tree, but a large forest of growth - and these ‘concept trees’ have sprung up at differing times ... some to wither whilst some are established - and they provide a frame of reference throughout one’s lifetime. If this was not the case our thinking would be piecemeal and gibberish. Logic is the tree for which our thinking cleaves to.

Growing a different tree takes time, yet it is vital to the task were one endeavouring to experience a new approach to an older problem. For example, and for practical purposes, many phobias and past associations can be overcome with the experiences leading to an entirely different tree of thought, rather than trying to modify the existing one.
